Angela T. Angeles
Angela is the owner of Catalyze Fitness and Catalyze Corporate Wellness. She's a Raleigh transplant via Oakland, California, and was raised in Virginia Beach, Virginia. She is a graduate from American University (Washington, DC) where she studied business and played Division I field hockey for 4 years. She is a wellness coach, personal trainer, and group fitness instructor and loves helping her community find joy and empowerment through movement and wellness.
Angela's unique training approach emphasizes building client trust, ensuring client safety, and mastery of fundamental movement. She believes in paying attention to the details - identifying muscular imbalances, improving posture, developing mobility and sound mechanics, and building strength by using functional movement patterns and exercises.
As a wellness coach, she teaches the power of habit design as a means to behavior change. She has worked with clients 25-70+ years in age and through habit design has helped them lose weight, improve nutrition, manage stress, and most importantly build the confidence to make lasting lifestyle changes.
Aside from training individuals, Angela has also served several organizations including Discovery Communications, California Department of Public Health, and University of California, Berkeley. She's a certified personal trainer with the National Academy of Sports Medicine, a certified group fitness instructor with the American Council on Exercise, a certified corporate fitness trainer with the National Corporate Fitness Institute, and a functional aging specialist with the Functional Aging Institute. She is also a certified pre & post-natal strength coach.
Angela is an advocate for adventure and when she's not in the gym you'll likely find her outside. She loves mountain biking, hiking, and spending time on the trails with her dog. She has completed several full and half marathons and a number of obstacle course races and continues to experiment with a variety of activities from Olympic weightlifting, boxing, and rock climbing. She enjoys traveling, cooking, playing softball, and loves California red wine and dark chocolate.
